The solo exhibition Junaiten II is open from 28/10-17/12 2023 at Østfold Kunstsenter, Fredrikstad.

The word "Junaiten" is Norwegian 1950s slang for USA. It is the collective title of a series of short films and related drawings I'm still working on. The central work is a triptych of short montage films where my father’s life in the US in the 1950s is set up against small texts he wrote decades later, weakened by Alzheimer’s.

At this point (late 2023) I have finished what I expect to be the main works in this project cycle. There are still a couple of ideas I want to persue, and a few points I want to make, though.
